The Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial (SFM) was established in 1985 to promote safety in the local fishing fleets and provide emotional and financial support to surviving family members of fishermen lost at sea. As part of its commitment to promote safer vessels, the SFM will offer a rebate of up to $1,000 to qualifying fisherman completing Remote Medical International’s Wilderness EMT/Medical Person In Charge course.
In order for a fisherman to qualify for a training rebate he or she must meet one of the following conditions:
- A commercial fishermen living in the greater Seattle area.
- A commercial fishermen in the employ of a fishing vessel home ported in the greater Seattle area.
- A commercial fishermen in the employ of a commercial fishing company based in the greater Seattle area.
